A happy customer sent us a nice note regarding the successful install of our mast top wind sensor (that also includes roll, pitch and temperature sensors). In this case we helped save time and money by also providing a detailed plan for a non N2K compliant but high performant CAT5 exterior grade cabling solution with in connector 120 ohm resistors. The country they were located in had extremely high import tariffs and delays for procuring a N2K backbone, and accessories for their mast.
N2K is just a version of CANBUS and we have never had any compatibility issues with top brand chart plotters and multifunction displays (MFDs). Their excellent Garmin unit interfaces perfectly not only with the N2K data provided by our mast top sensor but also with the non standard 15m+ backbone cabling.
