This January 2024, the 66 meter fishing boat
HUYU 907 (MMSI 701006733) of home port Mar del Plata Argentina, has head out into the infamous southern atlantic for a full season of calamari fishing under Captain J. L. Gabbin.
Gabbin is a previous customer of ours and and has agreed to test the new Hummer mast top wind sensor under extreme conditions. It will hopefully survive the complete season, and will provide invaluable feedback on weather proofing no matter what the outcome!
We provided him with our latest stainless steel reinforced mast top sensor along with a NMEA2000 to WIFI converter for use below decks. The sensor was tested at more than 60 knots for several hours before shipping.
The captain has sent some video during a storm. The sensor is working as expected in extreme sea state conditions. Will keep you updated.
